My Russian friend

When I decided to come and live here, in Belgium, I had to go to the language school, of course! Ah, what times!! It was the best "school" time ever! We were a special case, as we had to teachers. A female teacher, Sandra, who was the "official one" and a guy who was supposed to learn the teaching art, by assisting her for a month or two. The duo was such a success, we had soooo much fun at school, that the board of directors decided to let the two of them teach for the rest of the year. Among my colleagues were two black guys (Victor and Nilson) who were flirting with EVERY girl in school, a black very sexy girl, Maria, whose tonus and temper were amazing!!She was married with an old guy (one of the black guys told me he saw them at the swimming pool together), and she had two children. She was 25 and the joy for life that only a child can have! Then it was Sabina, an older English woman who sold everything she had in England, after her husband died, to join her son who was married to a Belgian girl. She could never pronounce correctly in Flemish! Her English accent was so strong, that not even with help from a professional she couldn't learn to pronounce well all the words. Otherwise she was very refined, a genuine English lady! We respected her a lot, and she was one of us...you could not feel the age difference even though she imposed herself and you couldn't make bad jokes on her account. Then, it was Petra, the girlfriend in that time (now the wife) of the famous Czech football player David Rozehnal who was playing in that time for Brugge. Utai was a Thai girl married with a Belgian guy (kind of strange, the husband), but she was a girl with a big heart! Of course we were more in the class, but the Muslims were never too eager to make friends with other "religions"!Then, it was US: the formidable trio!! No,no, it was nothing sexual! We were just really good, close friends: it was me (you know me!), it was Vadim, a Russian guy with a very developed sense of humour, and it was Georgeos, a Greek guy who finished the Medicine University in Russia (he was talking good Russian) and now he was trying to legalize his diploma here and get a job! Georgeos was the perfect type of friend, always there for anybody who asked his help, with a dry sense of humour, always optimistic, always with a smile on his face, he loved to travel, and his life was already full of stories, even though he was 3 years younger then me. Vadim was one of a kind. I don't know how he got here, but I know he asked for asylum. He was married and had a boy in Russia. His humour was extremely savorous, he was very faithful to his wife and adored her and their little boy (we all respected that). He was very intelligent, very loyal, also a very good friend, with a big heart, very honest, and with a beautiful soul! Man, what good times we had together,so much fun, so much laughter, and so much support we were giving to each other. We were all going out together (all mentioned above), had our little favourite bar, and I wish those times never ended!! Life wanted that among all the people who ask for asylum here and who mabe are not so honest or finished an university like Vadim, and yet get a positive answer to their request...Vadim got a negative one! In the last evening, we went out together, and Vadim told us the funniest story I ever heard (I laughed almost to suffocation), involving a chalet in the mountains, a bunch of friends and their wives, a hedgehog who:" pardon Georgiana, ate all the food, drank all the milk, and vomited everywhere on the floor!!" And all these, said in English, with the funniest Russian accent possible! I can still hear him in my head, and I laugh right now writing this. He also told us the story of a friend of him who insisted so much to be with his wife when she was giving birth, but then he fainted while watching, got a trauma, and could not have sex to his wife for I don't know how long, as he could not stand to see her..."cat" if you know what I mean ;) anymore...!!
Georgeos could not legalize his diploma here, and left last year to Greece for good. He was my last friend here, from the school time.
Today, I sent an sms to Vadim, and told him about my blog! He promised he will take a look one of these days. I am sooo excited and eager about this, therefore I wrote this post dedicated to all my wonderful colleagues from school!!

L'ete indien

And because I remembered this immortal song, I remembered also a particular night of my life, the night when love was alive, the night when my love was...l'ete indien!I believe that certain moments are so intense, so charged with strong feelings, that they continue to linger on, even after we left that moment. And if we would be able to travel in time, we would find ourselves in the same spot, with our love, anger, or frustration intact. I believe, some feelings, make time stop deceiving and defeating laws of nature, and they continue to live on independent of our will. That night of end of August, kept us there, in Calais, where our beatific love and joy, created an unique space that we try to find and recreate every day! We succeed so seldom...as, alas, moments are unrepeatable!
It was warm, like not many summer nights are here. I could smell the dust and the street. I was wearing a lot of white in that time, so I guess I was glowing in the night. Or maybe the fluorescent light came from my heart so much in love! The joy of being 5 cm away from the loved one, to see his sexy walk, to grab his arm, to put his hand on my face, to kiss his lips...it was like getting drunk very fast! was laughing loud and sharp, he was smiling letting me read love in his eyes! We went to the casino in Calais, and won! Almost 200 euro. We crossed over and had a very late dinner. The simple fact that we could have dinner at midnight with money won for a royal flush at the poker machines, was a reason to be jumping for joy. We drove home. On the road back, in the darkness of the roads, we were listening this song. I could feel love flowing through my veins, invading my brain. It must have overflowed, as I got blinded and dizzy with so much passion.I could feel its vibration in each and every little cell of my body. I was leaning on his shoulder, holding his arm. He was taking sharp curves to have me even closer. My cheek was touching his, my lips were kissing every piece of skin that was smelling Azzaro classic next to me. And all this time...l'ete indien! What I didn't know then, and I found out only after several days, was that...we were three in the car!

Manu Chao - Mala Vida

I was so happy to find this song on YouTube!! As strange as it is, I see the video clip for the first time, but the song I know for a long time. I remember I was 22 or maybe 23 years old, left my boyfriend at home and spent a weekend with my best friend at 2 Mai. This song was the favourite refrain during the mini holiday, even though our life was not "mala" at all! We always had a very strong connection, and spending sometime just for ourselves was a blessing and so much fun! I remember especially the trip back, by train, when, with my head stucked out of the window, I was screaming this song, letting the melody to be swallowed by the night while my hair was waving to the light poles along the railway tracks.

Pictures honey moon

Our accommodation

Honey moon

As promised, I come back with some memories from our honeymoon. They are so vivid in my mind, images and sensations, flavours and sounds, everything it's a swirl of joy in my head! Portugal was one of my favourite destinations, that I kept especially so that I can go there with someone very special, very dear to me. I was about to go there several times, and in the last moment I postponed. So, there we were, for our honeymoon. I am happy we travelled by car, so that I can admire slowly the change of climate and landscape. In the moment we entered Portugal, as I promised to myself, I was listening to Cesaria Evora, and crying...I smelled Portugal, I listened to Portugal, my eyes could not have enough of it!! The villa we rented was absolutely gorgeous, and the owners thought of everything (Dutch!!):food and drinks (including champagne and wine) in the fridge, baby chair, baby bed...etc. You could see they thought about the baby safety in every little detail. I am gonna show pictures. We were there for 10 days, and we mostly travelled from town to town all over Algarve in this time. Lisboa is an extraordinary town...it's a "must see", and because our time was kind of short, we took one of those English buses to be able to see the most of the town. Normally, when I go in a town where I had never been before, I like to get lost in it, to see the suburbia and the streets with houses where ordinary people live...that's my way to take the pulse of the town. But this time, we had to do it this way, because of lack of time, and because it was too much to see and a pity to miss. Lisboa it's a mixture of old and new, being a very crowded, alive town! The rest of Algarve was exactly how I expected: full of romantic landscapes, history, dust, heat and that specific Portuguese air that you can't find anywhere else! I will show some pictures, but soon I am gonna make an album on Picasa for whomever might be interested!

Inertia creeps-Memories of a hot day and the dinner table

On this song, and on the dinner table, we had the hottest, wildest sex party!

Nocturnal me-memories of a rainy day and the dinner table

The seat was burning under me, as I was smoking one after another in the too warm car. The cold rain was devouring the asphalt. People were hurrying like they were under acid rain. "Whatever burns, burns eternally,so take me in turns internally"...I was smoking. My senses were more awake and sharper than ever. "Oh take me internally , forever yours nocturnal me"...I was throwing this one outside through the window opened just a quarter and light up another one. I could see and hear everything so extremely exaggerated. "...nocturnal me..."was playing over and over again, while I was having this premonition. I knew the time to say good bye was like 20 minutes away. Now he was buying a bread, but once we would be in his apartment he would give up on me! My exterior was cold and calm "...take me internally..." but inside, this snake of love and pain was poisoning my blood. Here we are, face to face, at this table, that is today our dinner table:" I can't go on anymore." But he did...

Photos from the wedding

The wedding

I was proposed on 14Th of February last year, the date that also was our anniversary:3 years since our love story began! The truth is I was kind of scared of the idea of marriage, so my baby love tempted me with a very nice scenario of a wedding in a castle. That was something that made my imagination run wild, so there was no place for second thoughts, and I immediately said "yeeees". He made some research, and came with some information about a certain castle not too far from the place we are living (35-40km) which was organizing such event. I saw this: http://www.kasteelhetblauwhuis.be/index2.html and I liked it very much! We went there as soon as we could to have a talk, to see better the place, and eventually to book the place. The entrance is absolutely gorgeous, imposing! That was a plus. Then, when we met with the boss of the place, the impression was also good, nice person, only that he asked me like 10 times what my nationality was and he had a very obvious tendency to forget things. On the other hand, I saw him writing some stuff (not enough in my opinion) in a small notebook, in a very tangled way, so I started to panic! I was sure that he was gonna make a big fiasco out of "my day", so I started to be very bitchy about that. I have to mention that on the professional level (and actually I have to admit, not only...) I am a VERY demanding person. I do my job the best possible, I expect from others the same! And since I had to smile in the guy's face and butter his ass (my wedding was in his hands...what was I supposed to do?)of course I was making my future husband's life miserable with all kind of questions, remarks, demands, etc. The more I was thinking, the more I was sure the guy was gonna ruin the wedding, so I asked Pascal to look for another place. With his legendary calm, he asked me to trust him on this one and to let him handle the whole thing. I am gonna skip the details of buying the wedding dress and Pascal's suit, but I am gonna tell you that on 23rd of August we were scheduled to be at the city hall at 9 o'clock in the morning!! That means: waking up at 5 (after making love the till 2 o'clock - last time as single people), going to the hair dresser at 6, having people coming at our place at 8.15, 8.30 leaving for the city hall! The speech was really emotional, the employees tried to make it very personal, warm, classy and unforgettable. And it worked! As a gift from the city hall of Brugge, we received a white little statue representing two people embracing each other, but the beautiful meaning of this statue is the fact that the artist made in a such a way, that inside there is a special compound, mixture of two materials, so if you want to get that, you must break the statue first. A really nice symbol for the idea of marriage! After that we went to the only orthodox church in Brugge, where we were wed by the "arhiepiscop", because the priest was in vacation! The only week in the whole year when the priest was in vacation, was the one when we got married. The "arhiepiscop" is the priest's brother, so he did this as a favour for his relative and for us. It was very touchy and special the fact that all the people from the little choir came from their vacation especially for us, to sing at our wedding. The orthodox church is very humble inside, yet a very warm, family feeling is present. We went there two times, and both times, (also after our wedding ceremony), everybody is invited in a big room where tea, coffee, snacks, sweets are waiting for people to have there a brunch. The treats are mostly from the church's funds which cannot be too much as there are not many orthodox in Brugge), and also from what people want to bring. You can find there Romanians, Greeks, Russians, and other nationalities who are just following the orthodox religion, and mostly everybody is very busy with Romania, that they consider the cradle of orthodox religion. Everybody speaks a little Romanian, the wedding ceremony was also in Romanian, Greek and Latin, and I found there Belgian people who speak Romanian perfectly, became orthodox, and went to Romania many times, just because they feel so! After the church we came at home with a small group of people, only family to have some snack and to eat one of the two wedding cakes that we had in plan for that day! We were supposed to go in Ryckevelde forest (I talked about it on the blog) to have our vows there and to take pictures, but a day before had rained awfully, so...wedding white satin shoes and wet mud...not the best combination! So, we had little sandwiches that came in big bread turtles and crocodiles. Here there is this custom: the baker bakes huge bread turtles with a thick crust, they take the inside bread out, and the feel it with little sandwiches made with all king of types of bread rolls. Then, the cake....mmm...so fruity, so creamy, so gooood!! On our wedding ring and on the cake the were written the words:"Nimic intre" (this is our motto, because of a poem that Pascal wrote for me, in Romanian, and it is called "Nimic intre". As for the party and dinner, everything was at superlative! The food, and the wedding cake were...divine!! The decorations and the hall-exquisite, the music-very good, the service-beyond any reproach! The tangled guy knew very well what he was doing, we had 7-8 waiters that were entering in the same time, one after the other like in the movies, with all kind of food under nice silver bells. The starters, the meal itself and the desert were sooo tasty, everything was top quality, high cuisine and very classy. People still talk about that day and especially about the food! It was almost morning when we came home. We made our vows alone, in our living room, and it felt great! When we went upstairs, I had another extraordinary surprise, very dear to me. A beautiful satin-and pearls, white little box of chocolate was waiting for me on my pillow, and a framed poem, in handwriting. It was the poem, "Nimic intre" with an additional part, the epilogue if you want! I cried a lot, we kissed, then...we got ready to go in our honeymoon (well, not immediately)! But about this...another time!

I am gonna start with a pretty recent memory, the one of our wedding. But, for today I am just going to let you listen to our song, the one that opened the dance evening (man I cry when I hear it, and especially when I listen to the lyrics!). I am just gonna give you one tip: we celebrated our wedding in a castle! It was SUUUUUUUUUUUUPEEEEEEEEERR!! Next day we left in our honeymoon in Portugal. Tomorrow the story and pictures. Enjoy the song, it's a very good idea for Valentine's night...!!!

Miracolul vietii

Apoi am pus piciorul in prag: "cine ma tine de mana cand imi bagati ace in spinare, daca nu-l lasati sa intre?"
